Billboard hypothesizes that she will be using the live stream to perform her first single off her fifth album and announce a formal release date.

The news comes after Swift has dropped several hints on her social media that have kept her fans buzzing. In a video posted to her Instagram on August 4, she was seen hitting an elevator button for the 18th floor. She followed this cryptic clue with images on her Twitter account, including a photo taken of her cat at 5 PM posted on August 6 and a screengrab of Yahoo! Posted on August 7. Swift’s last album, Red, debuted in 2012, and according to Billboard sold over 1 million copies in its first week. A move away from her traditional country sound into a more pop-oriented composition, it spent over a year on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
