Report: Emma Stone in talks to replace Michelle Williams in Broadway’s ‘Cabaret’

The Amazing Spiderman actress is negotiating to take over a starring role in the musical Cabaret.

Broadway, here she comes. Actress Emma Stone’s is in negotiations to hit the famed New York stage scene. Her rep confirmed to the New York Daily News on Monday that the Amazing Spiderman and Easy A star was in talks to take over the role of Sally Bowles in the iconic musical Cabaret.

The role is currently being performed by Oscar nominee Michelle Williams, who Stone’s rep acknowledged has recently extended her planned run til November 9th. Cabaret was revived at the Roundabout Theatre Company’s Studio 54 in April of 2014 starring Alan Cumming, reprising his Tony award-winning role as the Emcee. Stone’s rep said the show is scheduled to run until January 2015.

The role would be Stone’s Broadway debut. She performed on stage as a child at the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, AZ. According to the New York Times Arts Beat, Stone, 25, had previously negotiated to take the role of Sally Bowles when the show was in its inception phase back in 2013, but had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts with her film career.
