Get ready to see two of Hollywood’s hottest Latina ladies hit the stage tonight at the Teen Choice Awards. Not only is pop-star Selena Gomez set to receive the Ultimate Choice Award, but mega-star Jennifer Lopez is presenting it to her!
E! News reports that Gomez will receive the Ultimate Choice Award during this Sunday’s 2014 Teen Choice Awards, airing on Fox at 8 p.m. Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey is set to host the annual awards show honoring the year’s best and brightest in music, movies, television, fashion, sports and more. The special report from E! News also indicates that Lopez has signed on to present the award to Gomez.
It’s a big honor for the 22-year-old Come & Get It singer. Gomez is being recognized for her extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry. Past recipients of the award include heavy hitters like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mike Myers, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Serena Williams and Reese Witherspoon. Last year, Ashton Kutcher received the coveted award.
Tonight’s star-studded performers include Demi Lovato with Cher Lloyd, Magic!, Rixton, Jason Derulo and Rita Ora, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Cody Simpson, Hilary Duff, Megan Fox, Fifth Harmony, Kevin Hart, Colton Haynes, Josh Hutcherson, Sarah Hyland, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Lea Michele. The Band Perry and Nat Wolff will also make appearances.
More than a handful of current singers on the music charts have received a nomination or two in categories like “Choice Male & Female Hottie,” “Choice Social Media Queen” and “Choice Song”. Among them? Taylor Swift, Lorde, Justin Timberlake, One Direction, Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Justin Bieber, Gomez’s on-again, off-again love interest.
According to the Los Angeles Times, last year’s Teen Choice Awards fell 10 percent in the key demo from the 2012 broadcast. In 2012, the broadcast’s 18-to-49 rating fell nine percent after shrinking 27 percent in 2011.
