Drummer Nathan Followill broke his ribs in the accident.
The tour bus of American rock band Kings of Leon was in an accident in Boston on Saturday night, according to Rolling Stone.
The entire band was on board, traveling from the venue where they had played to the hotel where they were going to stay. According to a statement on the band’s official Facebook page, a pedestrian jumped in front of the tour bus as it was driving down the road. In order to avoid hitting the person, the bus driver stopped short.
Drummer Nathan Followill was the only one to be injured in the accident.
“Nathan is being treated for broken ribs, but is doing well,” said the band in the statement.
As a result of Followill’s injury, the band is postponing Sunday night’s show in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. until further notice. Refunds will be issued.
Followill’s bandmate and brother took to Twitter to express his disappointment in what had transpired.
“So sad this a.m.,” tweeted bassist Jared Followill. “Bus accident last night. Nathan has broken ribs. This was the most fun tour in a while. We’ll be back ASAP.#GetWellNate.”
Kings of Leon is touring in support of their sixth studio album, 2013’s Mechanical Bull.
However, Followill’s rib injury puts the rest of the band’s tour into question. While Sunday night’s show is most definitely postponed, Kings of Leon is scheduled to play Wantaugh, N.Y. on Wednesday, and Bristow, Va. on Friday.
No word yet on the status of the rest of Kings of Leon’s tour, which is scheduled through mid-October.
