Tea Leoni and David Duchovny are divorcing after seventeen years of marriage. What will happen to the children?
Hollywood stars Tea Leoni and David Duchovny are divorcing, People magazine reports. The couple have been together for seventeen years and have two children, Madelaine, 15 and Kyd, 12, who Leoni will get primary custody of in the separation.
Apparently, the couple filed for divorce in June and were attempting to keep it under the radar. They should know better than anyone that there are no quiet splits in Hollywood. Eventually, word will get out, as it has, and the gossip rags will take notice.
Leoni and Duchovny have had their issues through the years, one being that Duchovny is a self-admitted sex addict. They have split up previously only to get back together at some point. Sadly, this looks to be the final straw in their tattered marriage.
According to Rumor Fix, Duchovny will be paying $8,000 per month in child support and $40,000 a month in spousal support to Leoni. It definitely seems like a lot of money but you’ve got to remember that Duchovny made quite a bit during his time on the X-Files and subsequently on Californication.
It’s always sad when two people divorce, especially when there are children involved. Hopefully things will stay civil between the pair and there won’t be too much damage done in the media. It’s hard enough going through a divorce as it is, but having the media tearing you to shreds in the process only makes it worse.
Are you surprised to hear that Tea Leoni and David Duchovny are divorcing? Do you think the amount Duchovny is paying to his estranged wife is a fair amount?
There’s no doubt this story is still unfolding.
