Radcliffe covered a host of topics while promoting his new film "What If".
Daniel Radcliffe’s latest role is a far cry from Harry Potter but it has caused him to open up about the idea of the “friend zone” and go even further with his nude scenes.
What If is a romantic-comedy that has Radcliffe playing a guy who falls fast and hard for a girl who already has a longtime boyfriend. This means that the former child actor has had to answer a lot of questions about being stuck in that horrid “friend zone,” but he preached some truth to Perez Hilton about his character’s situation and the idea as s a whole.
“The term friend zone is interesting because I understand it as if you fancy someone and they don’t fancy you, they put you in friend zone. But this movie is more about two people who really fancy each other, it’s absolutely reciprocated, except one of them has a boyfriend. So they’re in this morally grey area so they just become friends. Love is wonderful and confusing, but wonderful.”
“Stop calling it the friend zone. Stop talking to your other friends about it ’cause they’re bored and just ask her! My advice would just be nothing bad can happen from having a conversation. You might not get the answer you want but at either way you’ll be able to move on with your life in some way.”
Other than breaking it down about the zone, Radcliffe also keeps having to discuss the movie’s skinny dipping scene. Although no one should be surprised since he bared it all on Broadway in the show Equus. He told E! News that experience immuned him to “any inhibitions” about being nude for an audience.
Fans can catch Radcliffe in What If in theaters now.
