Jackie Mason joins Jon Voight in ripping Penelope Cruz over controversial Israel-Gaza letter

Jon Voight and Jackie Mason took umbrage with the message in the Israel-Gaza letter.

Actors Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are still dealing with the aftermath of a letter they signed last week, along with several other Spanish artists, that described Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip as “genocide.”

Although they later clarified their positions in separate statements, a number of Hollywood notables have voiced their concern over the message contained in the Israel-Gaza letter.

Actor Jon Voight, for example, wrote an op-ed for The Hollywood Reporter, calling out the famous couple for being “oblivious to the damage they have caused.” He also called them “obviously ignorant.”

Comedian and actor Jackie Mason was also quick to criticize Cruz and Bardem, telling the Aaron Klein Investigative Radio show Sunday that the people who signed the letter “come from these kinds of anti-Semitic, low-class backgrounds where a Jew is the most disgusting thing in the world to them.”

Both clarifying statements from Cruz and Bardem came before Voight and Mason voiced their opinions on the controversial Israel-Gaza letter.
