Former NFL star Michael Strahan and fiancée of five years, Nicole Murphy, split Friday, the New York Daily News reports.

According to several media outlets, Strahan and Murphy ended things a day before the former football standout was set to join the sport’s Hall of Fame.

Despite retiring from football several years ago, Strahan has remained in the public spotlight, charming audiences via his Live With Kelly and Michael gig.

“They love each other very much, but with the distance and work schedule it has been hard to maintain the relationship,” Strahan’s rep told People.

According to a report from the New York Post, Strahan and Murphy split because of their prenup.

“Nicole was unwilling to sign a prenup, even though Michael has consistently been very generous to her,” a source told Page Six.

Strahan has four children with two ex-wives and Murphy has four children with ex-husband Eddie Murphy.
