The ad is from a company touting the "world's largest cannabis information community."
A marijuana ad for Leafly is set to appear in the Sunday edition of The New York Times, Reuters reports.
Forbes reports that Leafly is a bit like Yelp for marijuana. Users, according to Forbes, can look for weed dispensaries by entering their zip code. When information about a dispensary appears, distance, price, reviews and other useful information is presented so that the cannabis user can make an informed decision about where to purchase his or her weed.
Leafly, according to the company’s website, is the “world’s largest cannabis information community.”
“We make the process of finding the right strains and products for you fast, simple, and comfortable,” the About section reads. “Whether you’re new to cannabis, a medical marijuana patient, or a seasoned recreational consumer, Leafly is the perfect destination for you!”
Reuters notes that the ad appears just one week after The New York Times published an editorial supporting the legalization of marijuana.
The Washington Post reports that that the newspaper will also feature an ad from an anti-legalization group, called Smart Approaches to Marijuana. The group’s ad attempts to point out the difference between the perception and reality of marijuana use.
