Beyonce has released a remix on her song Flawless, and it features Nicki Minaj. The R&B diva and rapper combine voices, but that is not the only reason for the buzz. The song apparently addresses a publicized incident inside an elevator that involved Jay Z, Beyonce’s husband and her sister Solange. This is the first time Minaj has worked with Beyonce.

Earlier in May, a video was uploaded online of Solange getting into a physical altercation with Jay Z in an elevator when they attended the Met Gala. A security guard had to restrain her, and the video went viral, prompting questions about what started the fight. It received attention from the press, and a statement was released stating the two have apologized and moved on. Jay Z is a successful rapper and businessman, and has been married to Beyonce since 2006. There has been speculation that he could have been cheating on his wife as rumors swirl, but neither involved would give a reason for why the fight broke out.

Lyrics like Of course sometimes s— goes down when it’s a billion dollars in an elevator have fans interested in what is going on. Speculation over the incident has continued, though Beyonce has remained coy about the matter. She and Jay Z are international stars, but very private about their lives. The original version of Flawless was about female empowerment. The remix came as a surprise to fans, and the collaboration is making waves.  Beyonce and Jay Z are currently performing on their On The Run tour. Minaj recently announced she is releasing a new single, Anaconda.

Rumors of an impending split for the couple won’t dissipate. The Flawless remix may provide insight into the elevator brawl. Fans will have to see if the duo puts the gossip to rest by staying together.
