It seems Orlando Bloom has not received this much attention since he broke out into the scene as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings series back in 2001 and became a swashbuckler in Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003. Fast forward over a decade later, and he’s making waves thanks to a Comic Con hook up and a punch.

Last week, San Diego was overrun with pop culture as Comic Con invaded Southern California. Bloom was down there as a staple – once you are part of LOTR, you are a geek culture icon. It was not his time spent at the Con that made for an interesting time, though: it was his time spent with The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev.

The two were seen getting hot and heavy at Zachary Levi’s Nerd HQ party on Friday, July 25. One person who was there said, “They grinded on the dance floor,” while another added the pair “were making out for 20 minutes.”

While it appears that Bloom has moved on from his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr, this might not be the case since she seems to have been the reason behind his run-in with pop star Justin Bieber. It was the smack heard round the world. Both were in an Ibiza restaurant when Bieber allegedly told Bloom his ex-wife “was good,” insinuating that he’d slept with her. That’s when he smacked the Canadian in the head. Rumor has it that Leonardo DiCaprio was there and cheered Bloom on.
