Freddie Prinze Jr. rips Kiefer Sutherland: ‘Most unprofessional dude in the world’

In a recent interview Prinze claimed working with Sutherland almost made him quit acting.

Apparently it may take more than five years to get over a tough working situation. Actor Freddie Prinze, Jr., has made headlines this week over comments he made about working with Kiefer Sutherland in 2009. Best known for his teenage heartthrob roles in movies such as She’s All That, Prinze has transitioned to television work but revealed in an interview with ABC News on Monday that he considered quitting the business after working with Sutherland on the acclaimed series 24.

“It was terrible. I hated every moment of it,” 38-year-old Prinze. “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face, I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.”

He admitted that he “just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped.”

It is the first time there has been any indication of difficulties between the two actors. In an interview promoting the relevant season of 24, published in Parade magazine in 2010, Sutherland referred to Prinze as a “great actor.” Sutherland responded to Prinze’s comments on late Monday afternoon. The statement, published by various sites including Fox News, writes that “Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze, Jr., more than five years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie’s grievances. Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best.”

Both actors were attending San Diego’s Comic Con over the weekend but hopefully did not run into each other.
