Despite delivering dire warnings on the future of The Hobbit's characters, Peter Jackson remains as good as royalty at Comic Con.
When it comes to Comic Con, there are some famous faces that are just considered royalty when they make an appearance. Peter Jackson is one of those people. While fans were thrilled he was there to talk about the last film in The Hobbit series, they were kind of bummed to learn about the tragedy the future holds for their beloved series.
Jackson shared with the sea of fans that The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies will have a lot of sad moments, as some of the main characters will be killed off. Is he going for a Game of Thrones feel with it then? Since that show is synonymous with getting fans to fall in love with a character and then ripping their hearts out when said character is killed off.
While the previous Hobbit films had a sense of comedy to them, Jackson was adamant to say the last will not have that same tone at all. Who will be the ones to meet their maker then? It obviously cannot be anyone that pops up in the Lord of the Rings series since these are technically prequels to that. So (SPOILER) Orlando Bloom’s Legolas and Ian McKellen’s Gandalf are safe.
Like the other films in this ongoing franchise of Jackson’s, filming took place in the beautiful land of New Zealand.
The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies will close yet another chapter for Jackson’s work when it opens in theaters December 14, 2014.
