Love at first sight? Gadot as Wonder Woman debuts at Comic-Con

The new Wonder Woman made her debut at Comic-Con in San Diego, California, much to the delight of fans who had waited months for the moment.

Comic book fans who had been patiently waiting for Gadot since December 2013 were rewarded on July 26 at Comic-Con in San Diego, California, when the latest version of Wonder Woman made her debut.

The first image of actress Gal Gadot, 29, who plays the iconic female superhero in ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ was released to the public, along with the stars of the movie and surprise premiere first footage from the film, reports Hollywood Life.

Gadot, an Israeli actress, was joined by the other stars of the movie, Ben Affleck, 41, who plays Batman and Henry Cavill, 31, as Superman, according to the report.

Zack Snyder, 48, the director of the film, presented the first image of Wonder Woman and also tweeted it.

The photo shows Wonder Woman in a tiny curve-hugging, bronze-colored ensemble with thigh-high boots, a spinoff of her signature costume. The dynamic superhero is standing amidst volcanos, ready to swing into action.

After playing a short clip from the film, Snyder told the audience, “We have to go back to finish the movie,” before leaving the stage with the actors, according to the report.

Lynda Carter played Wonder Woman on the TV series of the same name from 1975 to 1979. Carter wore an American-themed red, white and blue costume with gold head and wristbands.

The Gadot version shows a leather-clad darker side to the superhero. In the debut photo, Wonder Woman holds a sword in her right hand.

Gadot is a former Miss Israeli beauty queen and successful model who served mandatory military service in her country for two years. The actress also appeared in the three Fast and Furious movies, where she did her own stunt work, reports the Daily Mail.
