'Everyone around here looks like they've got hepatitis.'
Surely, everyone has wondered what it would be like if Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson met. Just two dads trying to get by on their wits and charm. Well, wonder no more: Fox’s most popular cartoon families will get together this fall.
Fans had the opportunity to watch more than five minutes of “The Simpsons Guy” on Saturday during the Family Guy panel at Comic-Con. The clip began with the family taking jabs at Springfield, making fun of its imaginary geographic location. Peter tells the family not to drink the water because “Everyone around here looks like they have hepatitis.”
The show plays on the similarities of the animated stars. The clip shows Bart and Stewie—the mischievous sons— trying to bond over activities like skateboarding and prank calls.
Homer Simpson shows a shared interest in doughnuts with his new “albino” friend. Bob from Bob’s Burgers and Cleveland from The Cleveland Show appear in one of Peter’s cutaway gags.
However, their bond breaks quickly when Homer thinks that Peter’s Pawtucket Patriot Ale tastes too much like The Simpsons‘ Duff Beer. Moe determines the Quahog hit is just a rip-off. Their disagreement leads to something like the lengthy chicken fight episode that includes punches, a runaway bus and, of course, a nuclear accident.
The panel also discussed upcoming episodes for the Griffins this season. They make a 40-Year-Old Virgin spoof—except they use Jesus. Meg becomes a foot fetish model and Stewie becomes pregnant with Brian’s baby. Liam Neeson will also appear, playing himself.
Like The Simpsons, Entertainment Weekly reports that Family Guy creators do plan to take the Griffins to the big screen one day. However, it will not be anytime soon.
The one-hour season premiere hits the airwaves September 28.
