TV personality Jenny McCarthy almost ran into some legal trouble recently. Her 12-year-old son Evan reported to the police that she was texting while driving. McCarthy, who is 41, responded by throwing his phone out of the car window. She told the story on her Sirius radio show, Dirty Sexy Funny. “He called the police on me and said, ‘Mom is texting and driving right now.’ True story.”
This is not the first time Evan has called the police on his mom. He once called 911 after his mother stepped outside for a cigarette and he couldn’t find her. The recent incident of multi-tasking behind the wheel did not sit well with him. McCarthy has shared stories about her son with the media in the past, and explains that Evan has autism and is a ‘rule follower’.
She has been involved in activism for the disorder, writing books and raising awareness. However, she has attracted critics for her views on vaccines and certain therapies. McCarthy was a host on the daytime talk show The View, but the gig was short lived. Some speculate it had to do with her outspoken nature and controversial views on medicine.
Her current job is as a radio host, and she is known for her wacky personality and sense of humor. The show started on July 16 and airs on Wednesday nights at 6PM. She is also engaged to Donnie Wahlberg, 44, actor and former member of the boy band New Kids on the Block. The two began dating in April of 2013, and a year later, she announced on The View that they were getting married. The couple is very happy and McCarthy is looking forward to spending their lives together. They moved in together and are planning their wedding. McCarthy says that Wahlberg is an amazing man and great with kids.
