‘Arrow’ fans get third season peak at Comic-Con

Comic Con brought a bevy of sneak peaks and first glances for lots of show including fan favorite 'Arrow' with the debuted trailer for their third season.

Arrow fans were able to check out a trailer of the third season at Friday’s San Diego Comic-Con panel. The enthusiastic crowd got a first look at the new characters, like The Atom (played by Brandon Routh), and Maseo (Karl Yune).

The series follows the life of Oliver Queen, who was presumed dead for five years, as he fights crime as a hooded vigilante armed with a bow and arrow. The panel kept quiet about spoilers, but some clues did appear. The trailer hinted at events like Queen and Smoak’s date going horribly wrong, introduction of a “lighter” character like Roy Palmer, and The Atom and Green Arrow’s partnership going askew.

The clip also included teases to a partnership for Oliver and Laurel, Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer stepping into Queen Consolidated’s offices, Felicity bloodied and laid out on a slab, Roy Harper shooting arrows in his full Arsenal regalia, and flashbacks to Oliver’s time in Asia fighting to break free from the control of Amanda Waller.

On the romantic front, the panel also vaguely talked about the relationship between Oliver and Felicity. They confirmed that the pair would go on a date this year and would face some competition throughout the season.

Arrow will have a two-hour crossover event with The Flash, a spinoff series, during the eighth episodes of the two shows.

Arrow is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, a costumed vigilante. The show’s executive producer Andrew Kreisberg and comic writer Ben Sokolowski were recently announced as the new writers of the comic.

The third season will premiere on October 8, one day after the debut of The Flash, according to The CW.
