The fiery blast also injured eleven others.
A mother and daughter have died of injuries they sustained in a Philly food truck explosion on July 1, The Associated Press reports.
42-year-old Olga Galdernez died on Sunday and 17-year-old Jaylin Landaverry died on Tuesday, according to the New York Daily News.
“We have no words to express, right now, we’re just really shocked at the fact that this happened. We never thought that she was going to pass away or Olga,” Yasmine Landaverry, Jaylin’s cousin, told NBC10. “The way they died is really tragic for us.”
The explosion that eventually killed Galdernez and Landaverry was caught on camera (see below). The fiery blast also injured eleven others.
According to NBC10, a 100-pound propane tank exploded at approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 1. Authorities think that propane vapor leaked from one of two tanks and filled the food truck. Eventually, a flame from inside the truck ignited the vapor.
WPVI-TV says that the explosion sent a fireball through the Feltonville section of Philadelphia and flung the propane tank into a nearby backyard.
