True friendship today may mean a dedicated post on social media. Taylor Swift is making headlines for her Tuesday Instagram post aimed at fellow singer Selena Gomez. In the post, the country music superstar is shown holding up a gold necklace with the letter “S” in front of her face and smiling. She captioned it, “Usually this S represents ‘Swift’ but today I’m wearing it because SELENA IS 22!”

The post is striking some of their fans as an olive branch. As detailed by Hollywood Life, Swift and Gomez were once considered two of the best friends in the world of young celebrities, they developed a rift in March of this year. Gomez apparently found Swift too “controlling” and Swift objected strongly to Gomez reuniting with her then ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. According to Hollywood Life, both singers decided they “needed space” and parted on “icy terms.” Perhaps Swift’s Instagram is meant as a sign the situation is defrosting. Bieber and Gomez no longer appear to be together.

Gomez has not publicly responded to Swift’s message. As seen in pictures published by US Magazine, the birthday girl is spending the week in Europe, first attending the Ischia Global Film and Music Festival in Italy and then partying on a yacht in Saint-Tropez with model Cara Delevingne on Monday.
