"I'll have what she's having."
Rob Reiner has a long list of movies on his resume, including his most recent effort, called And So It Goes, which features Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton.
In a recent phone interview with The Associated Press, Reiner recalled one of the more embarrassing moments of his long career.
Everyone knows about the famous orgasm scene in 1989’s When Harry Met Sally, which featured Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. Although Ryan pulled it off perfectly in the final cut, she struggled to fake the orgasm during the first few shots.
“She was a little nervous doing it in front of the crew and all the extras and everybody, and the first time she did it, it was a little bit kind of tepid and then I said, ‘Come on, Meg, you’ve got to do it with a little bit more,”‘ Reiner told The AP.
“And she did it and again, it was not so strong, and then I said, ‘Hey, look, let me show you what I want,’ and I sat down opposite Billy and I started pounding the table and going ‘Yes, yes!’ and doing all this stuff,” he recalled. “Then I realized that I’m having an orgasm in front of my mother. My mother was sitting right over there and it was a little embarrassing.”
According to The AP, Reiner’s mother played the bystander who said, “I’ll have what she’s having.”
And So It Goes, Reiner’s latest offering, had its initial release on July 10, but will open in the U.S. on Friday.
