The singer has since been released on bond.
Singer and actress Farrah Franklin was arrested for disorderly conduct near Myrtle Beach, S.C. early Sunday morning, confirms TMZ.
The 33-year-old self-described singer, writer, actor, host and producer was booked into the Horry County Detention Center in Conway at 5 a.m. Reports indicate that alcohol was involved.
Franklin is most well-known for being a member of the popular all-girl singing group Destiny’s Child. She sang along side Beyonce, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland for five months in 2000 before being fired.
“Destiny’s Child is going to be fine,” commented Beyonce in 2000, following Franklin’s departure. “We’ve done three or four shows already without Farrah and they’ve been phenomenal.”
Franklin was released from the Horry County Detention Center Sunday on bond.
After her release, Franklin made a public statement via Instagram. “I’m good,” wrote Franklin. “Just hate the dumb media sometimes, but hey, this is the job I signed up for.”
Her comments were accompanied by an image of a quote that reads, “To be great, you have to be willing to be mocked, hated and misunderstood. Stay strong.”
She had previously been arrested for disorderly conduct in 2011 in Culver City, Calif.
