They’ve slowly climbed the charts all year, but Australia’s 5 Seconds of Summer are planning a total take over with a new MTV special.

This coming Monday, July 21, the guys of 5sos (what they are commonly referred to as) will be Live from MTV. The program will stream simultaneously on MTV.com and MTV Hits. So there will be no escaping the pop rockers from down under.

Much like the golden days of the network when they had Total Request Live, the four guys of 5sos will take questions from the audience and play silly games. Rumor has it that some of the games will involve the boys in their underwear. This all coincides perfectly with their recent Video Music Award nomination for Artist to Watch. They are up against some pretty heavy hitters, like 2014’s wonder boy Sam Smith, and the girl who provided us with the inescapable hook in Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” Charli XCX.

5sos have only been a band for a few years, but have not quite made an impact in the US just yet. They started to gain recognition on YouTube, as many new artists have in recent years. Then, they had a little help with their popularity after they garnered an opening slot on One Direction’s “Take Me Home” tour, and later on when they performed on the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.

This year, 5sos have had two singles make their way into the top 40. While they are hitting the top 10 in their homeland, they have not quite had that same success stateside just yet. It’s bound to happen, though, because their latest single, “Amnesia,” is doing very well, charting at number 16. Their next single can only, hopefully, do better.
