The actress and filmmaker continues her partnership with Universal Pictures.

Actress Angelina Jolie has announced her next film project for Universal Pictures, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The 39-year-old humanitarian is set to write, direct, act in and produce By the Sea. Her partner, actor Brad Pitt, will also star and produce the flick.

The film reunites the off-screen couple who met on the set of 2005’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

By the Sea is Jolie’s fourth foray into directing. She has also directed the documentary A Place in Time, and two drama films, In the Land of Blood and Honey and Unbroken.

Universal Pictures also backed Jolie’s Unbroken, the true story of Olympian and war hero Louis Zamperlini, which is currently in post-production.

Unbroken currently has a Christmas Day release date.

“I am very happy to continue my relationship with Donna (Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures) and the entire Universal team as I finish Unbroken and begin work on By the Sea,” commented Jolie in a statement. “They have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker.”

The enthusiasm continues at the Universal Pictures end.

Angelina continues to showcase her extraordinary storytelling abilities in front of and behind the camera, and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with her on By the Sea,” said Langley. “Angelina and Brad represent two of Hollywood’s brightest talents, and we are excited to be a part of their collaboration on this powerful piece.”

A release date for Jolie and Pitt’s By the Sea has yet to be announced.
