Jason Biggs apologizes for ‘insensitive and ill-timed’ joke about Malaysian Airlines

A Malaysian Airlines plane was show down yesterday over Ukraine.

American Pie actor Jason Biggs has found himself in hot water after he joked about Malaysian Airlines, the company that owns the plane that was shot down yesterday over Ukraine.

“Anyone wanna buy my Malaysia Airlines frequent flier miles?” in reference to the incident that killed all 298 passengers on board.

“Hey all- ok, so- I am deleting my previous tweets. People were offended, and that was not my intent,” Biggs tweeted. “Sorry to those of you that were. This is obviously a horrible tragedy, and everyone-including myself- is sad and angry about it.”

“Sending positive thoughts to the victims and their families,” the actor added. “P.S. No one is making me send these tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologize.”

This isn’t the first time that Biggs has tweeted something distasteful. Earlier this year, when The Bachelor premiered, he tweeted, “There are prettier faces being interviewed in the Florida State locker room right now. #TheBachelor.”
