The Kennedy Compound consists of approximately six acres of waterfront property along Nantucket Sound.
A disabled veteran was arrested for breaking into the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport on Tuesday night, NBC station WHDH reports.
According to police, the man said that he was looking for singer Katy Perry though it is not clear why he thought she would be found at the Kennedy Compound.
NBC News says that police were called when an out-of-town resident phoned the Kennedy Compound to see how his son was doing and, unexpectedly, 53-year-old James Lacroix answered the phone.
Police believe that Lacroix entered the house through an unlocked door. According to WHDH, the disabled veteran will be charged with breaking and entering.
The National Park Service notes that the Kennedy Compound consists of approximately six acres of waterfront property along Nantucket Sound. It contains the residences of Joseph P. Kennedy and two of his sons, Robert F. and John F. During the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, JFK used the compound as a base for his Presidential campaign and as a summer White House and Presidential retreat until his assassination in 1963.
