A 27-year-old man, Freddie Alexander Smoke III, is suspected of starting a wildfire that has burned more than 4 1/2 square miles of forested land in northern California.

27-year-old Freddie Alexander Smoke III is suspected of starting a wildfire that burned more than four and a half square miles of forested land in northern California.

Freddie Alexander Smoke III was taken into custody around 10 p.m. Friday night.

The forest where the fire started is south of and separate from the Sequoia National Park east of Fresno, which is famous for its giant Sequoia trees.

Freddie was allegedly at an illegal marijuana plot. He was accused of causing a fire and with marijuana cultivation.

He was delivering material to the pot site in Shasta County when the exhaust from his truck ignited dry grass. CAL FIRE investigators believe he was operating a large rental truck to deliver soil amendments to an illegal marijuana grow site in the area of Roaring Creek Road and Sargent Road.

The Shasta County Marijuana Eradication Team responded and seized over 180 marijuana plants growing at the site.

The so-called Bully fire has since grown to nearly 3,000 acres and was just contained 10 percent by Saturday night. Six structures have been destroyed and one structure has been damaged. Several vehicles have been destroyed or damaged as well. About 65 structures remain threatened, only a fraction of which are homes.

More than 1,000 personnel are involved in fighting the blaze. The fire is threatening to engulf 15 homes and about 50 other structures. The wildfire had also prompted evacuations and road closures.

Later, however, all residents were allowed to return home and all roads are now open. All evacuations related to the Bully Fire in the Igo-Ono area of Shasta County were lifted Saturday night.

A total of 1,056 are now on the fire, including 33 engines, 38 crews, 10 helicopters, 16 dozers and 17 water tenders. Officials do not have an estimate on full containment.
