The first photos from the new spinoff series Better Call Saul have been released. The show is a prequel to the television show Breaking Bad and will premiere in 2015. It is set in 2002 and focuses on the lawyer Saul Goodman before he met Walter White. Both shows are set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and fans will see the character as Jimmy McGill, a man trying to find his path.

Breaking Bad was an award-winning, highly-rated drama on AMC. It starred Bryan Cranston as Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with lung cancer that is inoperable. Desperate to provide financially for his wife and kids, White starts making and selling meth with a former student. When the team got into trouble, Saul Goodman was their lawyer, but a rather shady one.

The show ran for 5 seasons and dealt with moral themes. It was a big hit for the AMC channel, receiving critical acclaim and regarded as one of the best series of all time. Breaking Bad became a cult classic and fans were disappointed when it ended. Now, Better Call Saul tells the story of the criminal lawyer Saul before he operated out of a strip mall office with television ads saying “Better Call Saul”.

The Breaking Bad series was a crime drama. Better Call Saul will be a comedy-drama show. Bob Odenkirk will play Saul Goodman. The new show is so anticipated, a second season has already been approved. Vince Gilligan was the creator and executive producer of Breaking Bad, and directed the first episode of the spinoff. Next year, fans can watch as Jimmy McGill transforms into Saul Goodman. If the show is made with the same quality as the original drama was, Gilligan has another hit on his hands.
