Pilot of delayed flight buys pizza for all 160 passengers

A Domino's Pizza in Cheyenne, Wyoming, made about 35 pizzas to feed the plane's hungry passengers.

A Frontier Airlines pilot treated all 160 of his passengers to pizza after their flight was forced to land at Cheyenne Regional Airport in Wyoming due to bad weather, FoxNews.com reports.

Having already left Ronald Reagan for Denver International Airport one hour behind schedule, passengers were quickly becoming agitated on the uncomfortably hot plane as it sat without its engines running in Cheyenne. The unnamed pilot, however, had a tasty solution.

“The captain took his own initiative,” passenger Logan Marie Torres told KDVR. According to Torres, the pilot said “ladies and gentleman, Frontier Airlines is known for being one of the cheapest airlines in the U.S., but your captain is not cheap.” Then he said, “I just ordered pizza for the entire plane.”

According to The Associated Press, a Domino’s Pizza in Cheyenne made approximately 35 pizzas and delivered them to the airport, where flight attendants took the food to the hungry passengers.

KDVR reports that the pilot was given the green light to fly to Denver after a two-hour delay in Wyoming. When the plane landed at its final destination, it was nearly five hours late, but no one was hungry.
