The summer of big celebrity weddings continues. Jessica Simpson, who famously divorced her Newlyweds costar Nick Lachey in 2005, is giving marriage another shot with former NFL player Eric Johnson. The pair walked down the aisle on July 5 after a 80-month engagement at the San Ysidero Ranch in Santa Barbara, California.

Simpson, 33, and Johnson, 34, became engaged in 2010, but put their wedding plans on hold twice to welcome their daughter Maxwell, now 2, and son Ace, now 1. According to People’s exclusive, both children participated in the ceremony, with Ace as a ring bearer and Maxwell as a flower girl. The couple told People, “We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment. To say ‘I do’ in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives.”

Things did not go completely smoothly. According to E!, Johnson became choked up while saying his vows and had to start them over. Simpson also succumbed to nerves, addressing herself rather than Johnson on her first attempt to say her vows. Fortunately, she was able to laugh off the mistake and continue. Despite the flubs, one guest told E! that on the whole the wedding “was fantastic.”
