Report: Lindsay Lohan sues makers of ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ video game

The video game earned $1 billion in just three days.

Actress Lindsay Lohan is suing the makers of the Grand Theft Auto V video game, The Associated Press reports. The lawsuit claims that Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. and subsidiary Rockstar Games used Lohan’s image and developed a character, known as Lacey Jonas in the game, without her approval.

“The portraits of the Plaintiff incorporated her image, likeness, clothing, outfits, Plaintiff’s clothing line products, ensemble in the form of hats, hair style, sunglasses, jean shorts worn by the Plaintiff that were for sale to the public at least two years,” the lawsuit claims, according to Forbes.

GTA V was a major success for Take-Two Interactive Software and Rockstar Games. The Verge points out that the video game earned $1 billion in just three days, setting a new record. The previous record holder, according to The Verge, was Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which hit the $1 billion mark in 15 days.

The AP notes that the actress’ lawsuit was filed Wednesday in a Manhattan court.
