The rear left propane tank on the La Parrillada Chapina food truck ignited.

A Philly food truck exploded Tuesday, NBC Philadelphia reports. Twelve people were injured, including a mother and her teenage daughter who working inside the food truck at the time of the explosion.

According to Philadelphia Police, the rear left propane tank on the La Parrillada Chapina food truck ignited, sending the metal propane tank soaring 50 feet into the backyard of a nearby home, NBC Philadelphia adds. Flames stretched 200 feet into the air.

Although the police and fire departments will be conducting an investigation, authorities are confident that this was an accident.

“We want to ensure that this was an accidental explosion. We want to ensure this wasn’t anything criminal,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, according to The Associated Press. “The bomb squad is investigating to see if there is any foul play. That will be the result of a completed investigation.”

The New York Daily News reports that eight victims were treated and released from the hospital, as of Wednesday morning.
