It takes a lot of work to make actress Susan Sarandon look ugly, Tammy star Melissa McCarthy told Jimmy Kimmel on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The 67-year-old actress who is a known for a variety of roles, including 1991’s Thelma & Louise and Dead Man Walking, has a glow about her that only the legendary ones have.

“We’ve got fake ankles on her because, like, who’s ankles are gorgeous?” McCarthy told Kimmel.

“She’s got a crazy wig on,” she added. “We put dumpy clothes on her.”

Despite the best efforts of the movie’s makeup artists, the actress said that the film crew had to stop the shoot on two separate occasions. When McCarthy asked them about the delay, she was told that “Susan looks too good.”

“I was like, ‘do we both look too good?’” the actress told Kimmel. “No. Just Susan.”

In the film, Sarandon plays Pearl, Tammy’s alcoholic grandmother.
