"With clear skies, you can see up to a hundred miles in every direction," SeaWorld's description of the ride reads.
Dozens were stuck 220 feet in the air after a ride at SeaWorld San Diego malfunctioned on Sunday, The Associated Press reports.
Citing San Diego fire spokesman Lee Swanson, The AP says that 46 visitors and two employees were on the ride when a power failure stopped the Skytower in its tracks.
Guest and employees in the Skytower were reportedly stuck for four hours, but no injuries were reported. The AP notes, however, that a teenage boy was taken to a local hospital and treated for anxiety.
“The guests were never in danger and park officials were in constant communication with them while the power failure was being addressed,” SeaWorld spokesman David Koontz told FoxNews.com. Koontz said that the employees provided guests with snacks and water.
This is SeaWorld’s description of Skytower: “Rise high above SeaWorld® for a view you’ll never forget. Look out over the beauty of Mission Bay, the deep blue Pacific Ocean and the historic skyline cityscape of San Diego. With clear skies, you can see up to a hundred miles in every direction.”
