Lindsay Lohan is hoping to make a comeback with her debut stage performance set for this fall on London's West End.
Lindsay Lohan is going to London to co-star in a play about the hysteria surrounding the Hollywood entertainment industry.
As her first time performing in a professional theater production, this performance serves not only as Lohan’s comeback, but also her debut onstage. The West End production of Speed-the-Plow is scheduled to run from October 2 to November 29 at the Playhouse Theatre in London.
Speed-the-Plow is written by well-known playwright David Mamet. It centers on two Hollywood producers trying to close a major entertainment deal. Lohan will play an ambitious and sexy secretary named Karen, originally portrayed by Madonna in the 1988 New York version.
Lindsay Lohan’s reality television show, Lindsay, finished airing on April 20, 2014. According to various sources, Lohan felt concerned that the reality television show would hurt her chances of a professional acting comeback. The show featured a lot of footage from Lohan’s recovery, which was not always shown in a positive light.
Lindsay ran for only 8 episodes on OWN, Oprah Winfrey’s television network. Although the show began its run with over 600,000 viewers, the numbers quickly dropped throughout its short run.
Lindsay Lohan began her career on a positive note with success acting in Disney projects. In Lohan’s 20s, however, she faced legal troubles and drug addictions that derailed her successful acting career and turned her into a household name for unflattering reasons.
