The live-in nanny threatened to file a lawsuit after being asked to leave.
A rather bizarre story came to a conclusion Thursday morning. According to a report from ABC News, Diane Stretton was terminated from her position as a live-in nanny with the Bracamonte family of Upland, California, but the woman initially refused to leave the family’s home.
“She left around 7 a.m. yesterday morning and she never came back,” Marcella Bracamonte told ABC News on Friday.“I have no idea where she goes. I don’t know what happened.”
Although Stretton hasn’t been back since leaving the Bracamonte home on Thursday, ABC News reports that the live-in nanny’s belongings are still in her room.
According to KTLA5, Marcella Bracamonte, a mom of three children, hired 64-year-old Stretton in March to take care of her children and help out around the house in exchange for a place to stay. Several weeks into her new position, Stretton told the family that she had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and would be unable to help around the house.
When they asked her to leave for failing to honor their initial agreement, Stretton threatened to file a lawsuit, which is when, KTLA5 says, the Bracamonte family looked into the woman’s background. Stretton reportedly has a history of filing unsuccessful lawsuits.
If Stretton returns to the Bracamonte home, they will likely have to deal with the problem themselves, as police have told the family that this is a civil matter, ABC News reports.
