Dozens of Avicii concertgoers hospitalized in Boston

Dozens of Avicii concertgoers hospitalized in Boston

Wednesday night incident is the third one at an Avicii concert in a week.

Swedish DJ artist Avicii may need a revision of his concert policies. Only a week after 29 of his concertgoers were hospitalized in Toronto, the record was topped when a reported 38 people needed to be transported by ambulance to the hospital from Boston’s TD Garden arena on Wednesday night.

Boston.com continues to update its information, relaying that the concertgoers had been transported for dehydration, drug, and alcohol use. Private ambulances were called into duty to deal with what the EMS called a “mass casualty event,” and an officer described the arena as very hot, with lots of “young kids” inside.

According to the Huffington Post, Boston EMS Deputy Superintendent Mike Bosse contacted the Boston Police Licensing Division, which has already cited the concert arena for allowing intoxicated concertgoers to enter.

Avicii is internationally known for his electronic dance music but unfortunately his concerts are quickly gaining a new, less positive reputation. He was one of the headliners at a Las Vegas music festival that claimed 2 lives over the weekend. His spokesman Diana Baron told the Huffington Post she was waiting for a full report from TD Garden arena before making a statement about this latest incident.
