Former America’s Next Top Model contestant Katie Cleary is likely in mourning today. According to TMZ, her husband Andrew Stern, 40, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a San Fernando Valley gun range on Tuesday. Law officials speaking with TMZ reported that Cleary and other family members had been interviewed and had indicated that Stern not only had a history of depression and financial issues but also was suffering “significant stress” over marital problems. Cleary reportedly admitted to officials that she and Stern, who had been married since 2010, were in the process of divorcing.

Cleary, also a former suitcase model on Deal or No Deal and an aspiring actress, made waves earlier this year by being photographed with both Leonardo DiCaprio and Adrian Grenier at Cannes. At the time, the Daily Mail published pictures of DiCaprio whispering in Cleary’s ear on the crowded floor of a dance club and of Cleary walking through the streets of Cannes with Grenier.

Speaking to TMZ, Cleary’s rep insisted that the photos were a “non-issue,” as Cleary and Stern had been separated since last year. Cleary’s rep also explained that Cleary was merely friends with Grenier and had only taken the opportunity of a chance meeting to discuss animal conservation with DiCaprio.

Stern was a businessman who also dipped his toes into reality television with an appearance on Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker before meeting Cleary.
