Katie Couric weds long time fiancé in ceremony at her home

The CBS anchored tweeted fans a photo of the Saturday ceremony in her Hampton's home.

Katie Couric got married this weekend in the Hamptons and instead of selling the wedding shots to a tabloid, she proudly tweeted her first picture as Mrs. John Molner instead.

She and Molner, a New York financier, dated for roughly two years before he popped the question last September. On Saturday the duo wed in an intimate ceremony in front of 50 guests. Couric told People before the big day, “We wanted to keep the wedding just very low-key. This is not my first rodeo so I didn’t want to go too crazy and neither did John.”

Couric tweeted out a wedding snapshot with the caption, “So excited to make my debut as Mrs. John Molner!”, showing off  her sleeveless, halter gown. It was ivory with embroidered Chantilly designed by Carmen Marc Valvo; simple yet elegant for her second “I dos.”

The news anchor was hush-hush about her wedding while planning, and tweeting the first picture shows that she really wanted to get married and have things run on her terms. Kudos to her for not making her day a buzzworthy event. She likely didn’t want to make a spectacle out of it like a certain rapper and reality star did just a month ago.

She and Molner were glowing in her Twitpic and should be happy together for the rest of their days. Together, they now have four kids; she has two grown daughters and he has one of each – a son and a daughter. This is the 57-year-old’s second marriage. Her first husband passed away in 1998 from colon cancer.
