Comedian Tracy Morgan has a 'long way to go' in recovery

Federal investigators say that the truck that crashed into the comedian's limousine was speeding.

Comedian Tracy Morgan, who was critically injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the New Jersey turnpike earlier this month, has left the hospital and is being transported to a rehab center, People magazine reports.

“While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go,” Morgan’s rep said in a statement obtained by the magazine.

The accident, which took place on Saturday, June 7, at 1 am, killed Morgan’s friend and fellow comedian James McNair. Harris Stanton and Ardie Fuqua, who were riding in a limousine bus along with Morgan, were also hospitalized with injuries.

Federal investigators recently determined that the truck driver who crashed into Morgan’s limousine was speeding. The National Transportation Safety Board says that the truck was traveling at 65 mph in a 45-mph speed zone shortly before the crash occurred.

Fellow comedians have sent well-wishes to Morgan for a speedy recovery.
