Obama has also had some choice words for the rapper.
Rapper Kanye West isn’t happy with President Obama. To be fair, he isn’t happy with Instagram either.
“The world as a whole is fu***** ugly,” West said, during an appearance at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Tuesday, according to the Guardian. “The internet as a whole is fu***** ugly, too.”
“Why don’t you let us redo Instagram?” West said he asked Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom. “Now, you know, Instagram is nice. It’s nice looking – I’m not knocking it. But in general, everyone spends all of their time looking at their screens or their phones. And just as a simple task, we could clean that up.”
Kanye and Kim Kardashian reportedly spent hours fixing up their wedding Instagram photo.
But that’s enough about Instagram. West also ranted about Obama this week.
“You can’t effect change from inside the White House like that …You gotta have the money,” said Kanye during a recent interview on Power106 FM, according to the Daily Mail. Strangely, “Yeezus” went on to add that “good ideas usually aren’t connected to money as much …creativity and extreme genius are extremely cheap.”
He also addressed those who criticize him for comparing himself to great leaders and innovators like the late Apple founder Steve Jobs. “Don’t worry about how I’m saying what I’m saying,” Kanye said. “Look at what I’m saying and how I feel and how my intent is.”
The rapper has also been on the receiving end of some criticism from the Commander in Chief. After Kanye rudely crashed the stage during Taylor Swift’s VMA acceptance speech in 2009, Obama told The Atlantic that the rapper was a “jackass,” but noted that “he’s talented.”
