A dispute with his brother lands the reality star briefly in jail.
Mike Sorrentino, better known as The Situation of Jersey Shore fame, was arrested Tuesday for simple assault, reports CNN.
Sorrentino, 31, allegedly assaulted his brother Frank, at the tanning salon in Middlefield, New Jersey that they co-own.
The Situation was the only party arrested following the dispute.
He later posted a $500 bond the same day.
Following his exit from the police station after posting bond, photographers on the scene reported that Sorrentino bore scratches on his neck and bruising on his right eye.
In regard to the incident, he reportedly remarked that his brother “was not running the store correctly, so I had to go in there and clean house, in more ways than one.”
Sorrentino spent six seasons on the reality televeision series Jersey Shore, until its final episode in December 2012. During that time he also dabbled in acting, appearing in ABC’s Suburgatory — though he mostly stuck to gigs that utilized his television personality status.
He made appearances on Comedy Central’s roast of Donald Trump in 2011, and a Fox dating game show in 2012.
In April 2012 he checked into a rehabilitation treatment center in Utah.
“I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion,” said Sorrentino, in a statement at the time according to CNN. “I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys.”
This summer, Sorrentino will participate in another reality television series slated for TV Guide Network, according to The Associated Press. The new show, called The Sorrentinos, will follow the family as they open a tanning salon.
