Grumpy Cat is making the move from one screen to the other. Tardar Sauce, the feline better known as Grumpy Cat, is already an Internet superstar but is making the move to television. Lifetime channel’s vice president of original movies, Arturo Interian, confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter yesterday that Grumpy Cat will star in her own Christmas movie on the channel later this year.

The live-action project, titled Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, will feature Grumpy Cat as often overlooked pet store cat who can communicate with a 12-year-old girl. Interian describes the plot as “a little Home Alone and a little Die Hard,” and explains that the casting of the famously sour-looking Internet star “brings fun and irreverence that we haven’t had at Lifetime.” The film will shoot this summer, with a yet-unknown actor providing the voice of Grumpy Cat.

Grumpy Cat became famous in 2012 when her owner Tabatha Bundesen’s brother posted a picture of her on Reddit, and she continues to be a popular Internet meme and topic on the site. In 2013, she spawned a book, Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book, and earlier this year she wet her toes on the television business with an appearance on season 13 of American Idol.

Born in 2012 with feline dwarfism, Grumpy Cat makes her home in Phoenix with her equally grumpy brother Pokey.
