The Beatle great postpones his tour.
Sir Paul McCartney announced last night that he has was forced to postpone the U.S. portion of his “Out There” world tour, originally set to begin in June. The news came directly from Sir Paul himself via a blog post on his personal website, in response to advice from his doctors.
The former Beatle and music legend fell ill and was briefly hospitalized with a viral infection after landing in Tokyo, Japan on May 16, forcing him to postpone concerts set in Japan and Korea and completely cancel five in the area. After being discharged from his week-long stay at St Luke’s International Hospital in Tokyo on May 26, Sir Paul returned to London in order to recuperate. He explained in his blog post that he is now “feeling great,” but his doctors have advised him to “take it easy for just a few more days” nevertheless.
Originally set to begin in Lubbock, TX on June 14, Sir Paul will resume the U.S. portion of the tour on July 5, starting with his concert in Albany, NY. From there, he’ll honor the following original tour dates: July 7, Pittsburgh, Pa.; July 9, Chicago; July 12, Fargo, N.D.; July 14, Lincoln, Neb.; July 16, Kansas City Mo.; Aug. 2, Minneapolis, Minn.; Aug. 5, Missoula, Mont.; Aug. 7, Salt Lake City, Utah; Aug. 10, Los Angeles; Aug. 12, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Aug. 14, San Francisco. The tour will then pick up with the following rescheduled dates: Oct. 2, Lubbock, United Supermarkets Arena, rescheduled from June 14; Oct. 11, New Orleans, La., Smoothie King Center, rescheduled from June 19; Oct. 13, Dallas, American Airlines Center rescheduled from June 16; Oct. 15, Atlanta, GA., Philips Arena, rescheduled from June 21; Oct. 16, Nashville, Tenn., Bridgestone Arena, rescheduled from June 25; Oct. 25, Jacksonville, Fla., Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, rescheduled from June 22; and Oct. 28, Louisville, Ken., Yum! Center, rescheduled from June 26.
