Bieber gets hit with another video. Can he survive another racial incident?
Justin Bieber is breaking his silence over a controversial video that shows the pop sensation using a number of racial slurs in a parody song.
In the newly released footage, posted by TMZ, a 14-year-old Bieber sings a parody of his song “One Less Lonely Girl,” in which he replaces the word “girl” with the N-word.
“If I kill you/ I’ll be part of the KKK,” he sings into the camera while smiling. “There’ll be one less lonely n—–.”
The video has already caused a massive uproar from the music community. Bieber has already issued a number of statements, saying he regrets the incident, noting that it took place several years ago.
The video is the second to be released over the last several days. Speaking earlier this week, Bieber issued a statement apologizing for the incident, and saying that he did not mean to offend anyone.
“I’m very sorry,” Bieber said. “I take all my friendships with people of all cultures very seriously and I apologize for offending or hurting anyone with my childish and inexcusable behavior.”
The video, which was released to TMZ, reportedly came directly from the Bieber camp after the individual attempted to extort nearly $1 million from Bieber. It remains unclear whether Bieber will press charges in relation to the extortion attempt.
The incident comes as Bieber has faced a number of legal problems over the past several years.
Speaking earlier this week, the pop star, who is currently holed in Mexico, said he would take time to consider the impact of his actions as he works through a plan to move past the incident. In his statement, Bieber said that “ignorance has no place in our society and I hope the sharing of my faults can prevent others from making the same mistake in the future. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to say but telling the truth is always what’s right.”
