The rapper also revealed an upcoming spring 2015 album release date.
Rapper Drake released a new standalone single titled “0 to 100/The Catch-Up” on Sunday, reports Rolling Stone.
The Grammy award-winning rapper dropped “0 to 100/The Catch-Up” via his October’s Very Own website. Less than one day after its release, the song had already enjoyed more than 1 million plays and 45,000 “likes.”
The song features minimal beats produced by Drake’s personal hit-makers, Boi-1da, Noah “40” Shebib, Nineteen85 and Noel “Detail” Fisher.
In the song, Drake predicts even greater personal success, rhyming, “If I’m not the greatest, then I’m headed for it.”
In addition, the rapper hints at his own upcoming 2015 release. “Listen up boy you’re better off eavesdroppin’/ We already got spring 2015 poppin’/ PND droppin’, OB droppin’, Majid Jordan droppin’, not to mention me droppin’.”
The song also samples James Blake.
Drake elected to drop “0 to 100/The Catch-Up” on June 1, the same night as Summer Jam — a major hip hop concert featuring the genre’s top performers — a concert at which Drake did not perform.
