Report: Adam McKay to replace Edgar Wright as 'Ant-Man' director

McKay has previously worked with Paul Rudd.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Adam McKay is in talks to replace Edgar Wright as the Ant-Man director. THR said earlier that the director was competing for the job with fellow directors Rawson Marshall Thurber and Ruben Fleischer.

Ant-Man may be a comic book movie, but McKay will be working with actor Paul Rudd who has signed on to play Ant-Man. The two have previously worked together on the Anchorman series. According to a statement from Marvel, Rudd represents the “studio’s desire to cast actors that bring several dimensions to its onscreen heroes.”

McKay has a number of projects in the works, including an effort with actor Will Ferrell to produce a new Flintstones movie. McKay has also worked with Ferrell on Step Brothers, Talladega Nights and the Anchorman series.
