Marilyn Manson cast on final season of 'Sons of Anarchy'

The shock rocker says personal inspiration made him want to join the controversial show which is set to air it's final season this September.

A rocking end to “Sons of Anarchy” is in the works, with the help of Marilyn Manson.

Manson has joined the cast of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ for the show’s seventh and final season. He will play a white supremacist named Ron Tully. He is set to help the show’s protagonist Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller, who is played by Charlie Hunnam.

The announcement that Manson will be appearing on the FX motorcycle gang drama comes just two weeks after his mother, Barbara Warner, passed away. Manson— whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner— says his father inspired him to join the cast. “Sons has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father’s,” he said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “So I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema. After all, the very heart of SOA is about that relationship. So, now all I need is a motorcycle.”

The show has had its fair share of controversy long before the Shock Rocker’s addition. The show has been criticized for some of its graphic moments, including rape by white supremacists, a woman burned to death in front of her father, and various violent murders. The sixth-season premiere featured a young boy as he committed a school shooting. The show has featured a number of celebrities, including Dave Navarro, Henry Rollins, and Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist DJ Ashba

Manson is no stranger to the small screen. He has appeared in other shows, including ‘Californication’, ‘Once Upon a Time’ and ‘Eastbound & Down’.

The final season of Sons of Anarchy will premiere in September.
