Actress Charlize Theron, who stars in A Million Ways to Die in the West, found herself in a bit of hot water after equating press intrusion of her personal life with rape.
“I don’t do that, so that’s my saving grace,” Theron told Sky News when asked if she Google’s herself to see what the media is saying about her. “I think it’s when you start living in that world and doing that, you start, I guess, feeling raped.”
When Richard Suchet, Sky News’ Arts And Entertainment Correspondent, asked the actress to clarify her comments, she didn’t back down from her rape comparison.
“Well, when it comes to your son and your private life,” Theron said. “Maybe it’s just me.”
“Some people might relish in all that stuff but there are certain things in my life that I think of as very sacred and I am very protective over them,” she added.
Theron, who is currently dating actor Sean Penn, adopted a child in 2012.
