Earlier this week, Scout Willis joined Rihanna on the list of celebrities who have had their accounts deleted by Instagram for posting topless photos. The 22-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore is now making a statement by releasing topless pictures of her walking through the streets of New York City on Twitter to protest Instagram’s policy banning female nudity.

According to Instagram, “Our guidelines put limitations on nudity and mature content. Once content is reported to us, we review it and remove if it violates our policies.”

“My comfort with my body should not be dictated by how others perceive me. However, I don’t wish to force this view on anyone,” said Scout on Twitter after finding out that Instagram took down her account and erased years of pictures and memories.

In order to show Instagram that she wasn’t backing down on her beliefs regarding female nudity, Scout took a stroll through New York City on Tuesday wearing nothing but a skirt and flats.”What @instagram won’t let you see #FreeTheNipple,” Scout captioned the pictures she then posted on Twitter of the topless venture. “Legal in NYC but not on @instagram.””This is about helping women feel empowered to make personal choices about their bodies,” she noted, explaining that these choices are “not dictated by what society says is decent.”

She then went on to retweet pictures of babies breastfeeding from @Freethenipple, which is the Twitter handle for a campaign protesting topless censorship.

Rihanna faced a similar struggle from Instagram recently, when the company deleted her account for posting several risqué, topless shots from her spread in French LUI magazine. The singer went on her Twitter account Thursday to tweet her support for Scout.

“@TheFashionLaw: @Scout_Willis is Protesting Rihanna’s Instagram ban and looks hot while doing it,” Rihanna retweeted, adding the words “FREE THE NIPPLE.”
