Although Twilight actor Robert Pattison has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that he’s still in touch with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart, the Twilight days are all but over for both actors.

Stewart’s latest movie Clouds of Sils Maria recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. In the movie, Kristen plays the personal assistant of an aging actress experiencing the difficulties of aging in a young Hollywood.

In an interview with Reuters, Kristen discussed film making and her role in Clouds of Sils Maria.

“You know, to make a movie is so ridiculous,” Stewart said when asked about the feeling an actor/actress gets when making a movie. “We’re going to go film each other pretending to be other people so other people can watch us pretending to be other people?”

“It’s insane,” she added. “But if it’s worth it and it’s saying something it can be transcendentally important.”

According to Stewart, Clouds of Sils Maria was a great opportunity to take on a role that didn’t involve all of the fanfare and fame that came with the Twilight series.

“It’s interesting for me to play an actress’ assistant who then comments on that world and how it works and how superficial it can be,” she said.

Will Kristen find major movie success outside of the Twilight franchise?
